I found the kitchen functional with all essentials available. I particularly appreciated the detailed notes left everywhere. They were really helpful. The lounge featured a log fire, and it created a warm atmosphere. The drying room was also very useful after my hikes.
The bedside lamp in my room flickered occasionally. It was a minor but noticeable issue.

Really good Stay!

great kitchen parking space self-catering facilities twin room
The location near the shops and pubs made it easy to find anything I needed. The parking available on-site was also very convenient. I found the self-catering facilities were great, especially the kitchen. I stayed in a twin room with its OWN bathroom, it met all my needs.
The walls were a little thin, so I could sometimes hear noise from other rooms, though it wasn't TOO bad.
Service

The host was lovely. She provided great recommendations about nearby hikes. Communication with the owner was easy, and she was always helpful. They maintain a high standard of hospitality.

thin walls stale bread
my sleep suffered because of thin walls. i heard every cough and conversation. the breakfast was a basic, boring spread. the bread was stale, the fruit was overripe, and the coffee tasted like dishwater. they really could put more effort into that first meal of the day.

Mediocre stay, disappointing room

tiny window electric heater
The shared kitchen was equipped well.
The room I was given felt more like a box. The window offered no view. I asked for an electric heater, it never arrived. The whole place was cold, and the bathroom was especially unpleasant.

Reasonable stay with minor drawbacks

good equipment coffee machine immaculate accommodation small room tiny window rattling door
The kitchen had very good equipment. It included a coffee machine (I used it every morning). The location is scenic. The shop is very close to the hotel. I liked that the accommodation was immaculate.
My room felt quite small. The window was tiny. The front door rattled a lot when it was windy outside (I noticed that at night). I found it a bit cold around the entire accommodation.
