a pleasant surprise!

recent refurbishmentgreat roomsquality foodfriendly staff
I was really happy with the recent refurbishment. It has really elevated the place. the rooms were unexpectedly great. I stayed in a sea view room with large windows. the food was great too. The chef clearly cares about quality. the staff were genuinely focused on making my stay as good as possible. They were so friendly.
The bar was not consistently staffed. Sometimes there were delays in getting served, but the night porter tried his best to manage.

small roomconstant noise
the room felt quite small. it barely had any space to walk around the bed (and the bed itself wasn't very big). unfortunately, our room faced the back. it was very warm, so we opened the window, but there was constant noise from the extractors below. wind whipped around the building as well. i think a fan or air conditioning could help people keep the window closed.

Mixed experience. Some issues need attention

missing coffee machineexcessive wait
The absence of a coffee machine and mini-bar, despite being advertised amenities for the room i booked, was a letdown. balancing the heating was also problematic, i found it fluctuating between excessively hot and uncomfortably cold. it took an unreasonable amount of time to receive the main course after finishing the starter during dinner. The wait was approximately 35 minutes.
