the room was very large. it also had a great view. the staff showed us around the hotel before taking us to our room. i found this helpful.

i went to the restaurant for a meal. the vegetarian options on the menu were limited. one of the main courses was very salty, i could not eat it.

tired decor dog presence

the setting of the hotel was beautiful and serene.

we booked a night away for our anniversary, and the decor in the hotel felt quite tired (it looked like it needed some updating). the hotel is dog friendly, but we don't have a dog, and it seemed like dogs were everywhere. this might be a plus for some, but it detracted from our experience.

friendly welcome dinner service food quality

the staff welcomed me warmly and escorted me to my room upon my arrival. the gentleman at reception booked me for dinner and explained service times, wifi details, and other relevant information. i relaxed with a drink on the patio before dinner and found my meal in the conservatory good. the menu had good variety and the food quality plus service reached a high standard.

the vegan afternoon tea did not meet expectations. the selection included shop-bought cakes, a linda mccartney sausage, and tiny sandwiches with minimal fillings. there was no vegan scone or suitable alternative. the regular afternoon tea also felt overpriced with few sandwiches.

I found the staff helpful. They promptly addressed a minor issue with the room lighting. the breakfast included locally sourced sausages and fresh fruit. It was a great start to the day. the gardens were well maintained. I enjoyed a peaceful walk each morning. i appreciated the quiet atmosphere. It allowed for a relaxing stay.

the wifi signal was occasionally weak in certain areas of the garden, though it was strong in the hotel building.

charming getaway

cute staff fine grounds convenient parking

The staff helped me so much. They were always ready to assist and very cute. the grounds are fine, and i took several walks enjoying the beautiful views around the hotel. i liked the parking because i found a space easily each day and it was convenient for getting my luggage to the room.

the bathroom was a bit small, and i felt the layout could have been better to accommodate toiletries and movement. the shower pressure was low too.

The staff were friendly and helpful, guiding us through the hotel upon arrival. our dog received treats. The hotel is very accommodating of pets. the food was delicious at both breakfast and dinner with good choices. the hotel grounds were fine and peaceful.
