historical stay

christmas meal separate bathroom hot water christmas carols
I visited during christmas 2025 and arrived to sherry and mince pies while listening to carols. i enjoyed a nice christmas eve evening meal. christmas lunch was great! i had an evening buffet on boxing day after a walk. we slept well all three nights in our beautiful room with separate bath room. It took a few mins to get hot water.
the reception had the feel of a budget b&b, except for the fireplace.

extensive grounds rich history roaming peacocks
the location offered extensive grounds ideal for exploring. i saw peacocks roaming freely, WHAT a treat! the building had a rich history evident throughout its structure.
the bar staff were occasionally unprofessional, a shame really.

The hotel location looked top. I liked a beautiful room with A NICE view. peacocks are very beautiful and seem to eat from your hand.
the restaurant was dirty. the food tasted not very good. THE breakfast was the worst breakfast i ever had. there was not even marmalade available.

I found my spacious room very comfortable. The TV included access to streaming services, a great feature. The grounds are fine. I especially enjoyed stargazing at night. The location is very convenient to both the town and a nearby country park, giving me options.
The breakfast service was inconsistent. Some items needed replenishing. I asked about it, but replacements were slow (I think the staff was busy).

outdated room leaky faucet
the location was acceptable and convenient to local attractions.
The room was far from what i expected. It felt outdated and worn. the bathroom had a leaky faucet and the shower pressure was weak. i also found the breakfast buffet options very limited, especially considering the price.
